Bishop Daniel Chavis, Jr.

Suffragan Bishop Daniel Chavis Jr., formally of the Bethesda Temple Church in St. Louis, Missouri moved to Kansas City, Missouri to continue his education in July 1973. He was called to the ministry and preached his first sermon in 1974. He has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history with an emphasis in ancient and classical studies from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. He has a Masters of Divinity from the Nazarene Theological Seminary.

Suffragan Bishop Chavis has been the Pastor of the thriving Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ since July 1984. He has held many prestigious offices in our community. Since June 1991, he has served as a District Elder of the Northwestern District Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. He has served as a treasurer and chairman of the Northwestern District Council. In October 2007, he was elevated to Suffragan Bishop. He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards. Among the greatest blessings in his life, is his marriage to the lovely Joan Elaine Alford Chavis. Their union produced four precious children who are their pride and joy. Pastor Chavis is a great man of God and may the Lord continue to bless him.
